Aims and Objectives
ALPEMA was formed to
- promote the broader use of brazed aluminium plate-fin heat exchangers (BAHXs) in existing and new markets
- harmonize the standards concerning their general design, construction and application
- promote and improve the safety and quality of BAHXs at manufacture and in service
- promote R&D on BAHXs.
It is the policy of ALPEMA to comply with all antitrust laws and trade regulations applicable to the business and operation of its Members.
History
The major manufacturers started meeting in 1989 and formed a formal
association at the end of 1991. The association was registered in Japan and
Europe in 1992. The first edition of the ALPEMA standards was published in
1994, the second edition in 2000 and the third edition in 2010.
About
ALPEMA, the Brazed Aluminium Plate-Fin Heat Exchanger Manufacturer's Association represents the world's
five major manufacturers of brazed aluminium plate-fin heat exchangers
(BAHXs). These are very compact exchangers built to a high specification for use in air separation plants
and a wide range of other petrochemical and refrigeration applications. The Association has developed a set
of standards for the manufacture, installation and safe operation of BAHXs.
